Founded in 1827 by Naraina Pillai, Sri Mariamman Temple is Singapore's oldest Hindu temple built in Dravidian style. It had also been gazetted a national monument due to its historical significance. The temple has become a popular tourist attraction.

Address: 244 South Bridge Road Singapore 058793By Car/Bike -
- Along South Bridge Road, turn left into Erskine Road and turn right into the Maxwell Food Centre open carpark (Coupon parking).
- Alternatively, along South Bridge Road, turn right into Sago Lane and park at the open carpark (Coupon parking).
By Public Transport -
- Alight at Bus Stop No. 05189 (Opp Sri Mariamman Temple) - Bus No. 61, 166, 197
- Alight at Bus Stop No. 05269 (Maxwell Rd FC) - Bus No. 80, 145
Nearest MRT Station: Chinatown (10-15 minutes walk)
You will be required to pay a fee of S$3 for photo taking and S$6 for video taking inside the temple. The temple will usually be crowded during Deepavali which happens in the month of October or November. No footwear is allowed in the temple.
